IARB Briefing on the Lambert Consultation Paper

The British authorities want to turn banking into a profession, something the International Academy of Retail Banking has campaigned for since our formation in 2011.

The plan is to establish a permanent banking standards body in London that will be funded by the banks but sufficiently independent of the industry to be influential and focus on the banks’ customers.

It will serve as a “canopy” for the accreditation of a range of professional qualifications for the various streams of banking – and the education and training programmes that support them – and will likely also supervise the players in the sector.
